ZOOM origin of this word

    Hello all list members,

    can anybody please explain, why is word "zoom" used for this kind of lenses and in many others terms, related to "moving, magnifying" etc...

    It's an onomatopoeic word, describing movement.

    Onomatopoeic? Put the crackpipe down and step back veeerrrry slowly...everything is going to be all right[​IMG]
